As a membership based professional body, the primary focus of the institution has been to provide a platform for sharing the knowledge and fostering inter-personal relations. Ever since its inception in the year 1993 INSPIRE has grown both in terms of its size and sphere of its activity coverage.  INSPIRE today has established a formidable network of member covering almost all major Industrial, Corporate establishments, Government and Private Sector Institutions, Academic/Scientific bodies, Banks, Medical and Research institutions, Universities etc. 
 
Broadly, the activities of the Institution are classified as under:-.
1.  Professional Development Programs

As of now, Inspire has successfully developed an effective network of secretaries who are constantly provided with opportunity to refresh, reorient and upgrade their functional profile in terms of knowledge, skills and attitudes. To this end INSPIRE has conducted several workshops and seminars.  Some of the activities undertaken by the Institution are as under:

In addition, with a view to enhance essence of professional pride amongst the members INSPIRE has published a number of publications, souvenirs news bullettins, articles etc. with a view to keep the members abreast of the emerging trends in the profession.  INSPIRE has also published a Members Directory and distributed amongst the members for the easier interaction of members.

2.  Membership Based Programs

Another area of interest has been to promote the inter-personal relations and to highlight the latent artistic/cultural skills of the members and their families. As a part of the annual activity plan the Institution on its Foundation Day organises cultural variety programmes and also Excursion trips/Week-end outings trips quite frequently.  As necessitated by the constitution of the Institution, Annual General Meetings and General House Meetings are also being called to discuss and finalise major activity plans regularly.
